Unemployment may be high and charitable donations may be low, but homelessness has dropped 17 percent from two years ago, according to the Applied Survey Research group of Watsonville. The groups vice-president Peter Connery added that most homelessness results from disabling conditions, whether it’s mental, health or a physical issue or something like substance abuse. Despite common misconceptions, only 2 percent of all homelessness can be attributed to foreclosures. Read more at KION.
